We've known each other for, what – five, ten, twenty, probably more – years and have gone through a lot together. Remember that time with the dancing baby? Or when you hooked me up with an invite to some private torrents? Good times. But something has been troubling me lately. No offense Internet, but you've got a few annoying habits. I can deal with most of them, but there's one that just really gets my goat if you know what I mean. You seem to have an obsession with making every single word you use a hyperlink. I appreciate the concern; maybe I didn't know what Google is and I needed a quick reference. Maybe I'm not too keen on trigonometric functions and I'd like to read a six thousand word article to catch up on my math. Maybe I have no idea what any of these words mean and the only way I'll bother look them up is by immediately clicking a link.
Internet, I know you have the best intentions and are only trying to help, but I'm fine on my own. If I don't understand a word or term I'm perfectly capable of looking it up myself! Linking every other word makes pages unreadable and is completely unnecessary. Links should be reserved for unique interesting things, not encyclopedia articles or company websites that any fool could find on his own in a few seconds. Please take this into consideration when creating future documents.
Take care,
-An internet user
